They say you shouldn’t rush into a new marriage, but screw it. This is the funniest use of speedrunning I’ve seen lately.
Once a fandom gets big enough, it starts to develop a reputation. In the case of Five Nights at Freddy’s, the reputation isn’t necessarily a good one—and the creator of the series knows it.
Skyrim: Special Edition is a buggy mess on consoles. In just a few hours playing on Xbox One, I encountered NPCs floating above chairs, twitchy mammoths, seconds-long pauses in animation, echoing dialogue and other glitches that are unforgivable for a game that came out in 2011 and, in 2016, costs $60 on console.
We’ve heard rumblings of a big Steam update on the horizon, and details are beginning to trickle in. Apparently it’s “a couple weeks away” and will, among other things, require developers to advertise their games with real screenshots, rather than art, CGI, or pictures of their spring break vacation to Cancun.
If you’ve always wanted to play 999 and Virtue’s Last Reward but don’t have a handheld, you’re now in luck. Both visual novels are coming to PS4, Vita, and PC this spring.
My Gwent awakening has taken place entirely within the last couple of months. In that time I went from never playing, to becoming mildly obsessed with the Witcher 3 minigame version, to playing and enjoying the beta of the standalone game. It’s been a lot to digest.
Christine McMillan, an 86 year-old woman from Ontario, was pretty surprised when she received an email claiming she’d pirated post-apocalyptic FPS Metro 2033. She was even more surprised about the part where she was liable for a fine of up to $5,000. Itsy bitsy problem: she didn’t even know what Metro 2033 was.
Unpopular opinion: the biggest problem with Skyrim is that everybody’s not Draculas.
Patience is a virtue, people.
The Splinter Cell series for PC went on sale this weekend on Steam. Every game was discounted at 75% off, including Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the most recent game which Kirk Hamilton called in his review a sort of “greatest hits” collection borrowing the most successful parts from each previous game.
Unsurprisingly, Skyrim: Special Edition quickly became one of the most popular games on Steam over the weekend. And given that she had already established herself as a channel for older gamers and Skyrim fans, it made sense that Shirley Curry, aka Grandma Shirley, would return to Skyrim.
Somewhere in Elite Dangerous’ gargantuan (and, some might say, dangerous) universe, there are aliens. Or there were. Nobody’s entirely sure yet. But players keep finding clues, and the latest discovery—or at least, the way it occurred—even shocked the game’s developers.
It’s almost Halloween! You know what that means: video games for scary cheap prices. Or just regular cheap prices, but there’s a big picture of a spooooky cauldron full of eyeballs and hands and PC gaming components behind them.
Undertale action figures are out now, and they got one heck of a trailer. It’s very, um, Undertale, is the best way I can think to put it. Also, I’m pretty sure I need Lesser Dog with karate neck action in my life.
My Summer Car might sound like a game about the fine art of crafting jank-ass automobiles, and to an extent, it is. But it’s also an open-world conduit for stories. Many of those stories involve beer and pee.
Over the last few months, several women have reported facing or witnessing sexual harassment online in VR. Most recently, author Jordan Belamire explained on Medium last week that the avatar of someone she didn’t know virtually groped her in the online mulitplayer game QuiVR. Yesterday, QuiVR’s developers responded by…
As part of the latest patch to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , Valve has made changes to their policy for bad behavior. Two strikes and you are out, pal.
Earlier this year, Sega opened the floodgates on mods of its classic games, enabling Steam Workshop support for Sega Genesis & Mega Drive Classics. This week, dozens of those mods made like the cast of Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) and vanished.
